    Kasey and Nadia will be reading from and discussing their poetry books. They'll be exploring craft of poetry writing, writing in and out of silence, writing through trauma, writing for the self and writing for others, putting books together, and more.

    In addition, they'll offer poetry writing exercises, prompts, and tips on the themes of the reading. These exercises are designed for writers with any level of writing experiences.

    There will be time for questions and answers and discussion at the end.

    Kasey Jueds is the author of two collections of poetry, both from the University of

    Pittsburgh Press: Keeper, which won the 2012 Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize, and The Thicket. Her work can be found in journals including American Poetry Review, Crazyhorse, Narrative, Beloit Poetry Journal, Ninth Letter, Cincinnati Review,Bennington Review, and Pleiades. She lives in a small town in the mountains of New York State.

    Nadia Colburn is the author of the poetry book The High Shelf (starred Kirkus review), which explores family life against the backdrop of personal, social, and environmental violence. Her poetry and prose have appeared in over 80 publications including The New Yorker, American Poetry Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, and slate. She holds a PhD from Columbia University and is the founder of Align Your Story Writing School.
