In this module, we think about story and where we write from. I ask you to start to put together the different pieces of writing that you’ve done so far and explore more deeply what it means to write from a place of alignment..

This week we will look closely at a variety of passages that talk about the power of narrative itself; we’ll explore techniques for working with different kinds of stories, and we’ll look at the power of story to transform us.

WRITING EXERCISES 

This week we will explore a variety of writing prompts to align our story and to begin to put the different pieces we’e been working on together.


YOGA

This module we are going to do a complete kriya, or set of exercises. I walk you through the different exercises here. This kriya, called the Kriya for Inner Vitality and Stamina helps us come into our inner alignment, from which all the outer alignment of our writing will come. When you’re comfortable with the exercises, you can practice with the audio link. I invite you to do one of the yoga sets from an earlier week as a warm up. Different days you can choose different sets as your warm up. I encourage you to keep up, in particular, with building that core strength in stretch pose. And frogs and sun salutations are always a great way to warm up, stretch and strengthen the entire body.

MEDITATION

Start with the short video to learn this week’s meditation to go deeper into our center for inner alignment. This meditation is a simple four part breath. We breathe in for ten seconds, hold our breath for ten seconds, breathe out for ten seconds, and then hold our breath out for ten seconds and repeat. This will bring inner clarity and expand the lung capacity and circulation. You can build up to ten seconds if it is too much at first. Similarly, as you build up capacity you can lengthen the times.

You can practice with audio if you’d like, or just come into this meditation on your own. Practice for as little as one to three minutes or up to 11 or 31 minutes.
